The Products We Use.....

The Norfolk County Mosquito Control Project relies mainly on 4 different products for mosquito control. Three are larvicides, and one is an adulticide. Many factors were involved in choosing these products including environmental concerns, public health, public opinion, cost, and efficacy. The products used by the Norfolk County Mosquito Control Project are registered for use by both the federal government (EPA) as well as by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts State Pesticide Bureau following exhaustive studies required before product registration is granted. The Project feels that these products present the least risk to the public at large and non-target species while providing effective mosquito control. LARVICIDES:

Bti (Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis)

Bs (Bacillus sphericus)

Altosid* (methoprene)

ADULTICIDE:
